Why Burley Should Be Your Next Dog-Friendly Weekend

Guest blog by Hollie – Dog Grooming by Hollie, Kent

Hi lovely readers!
I’m Hollie — dog groomer, proud Cavapoochon mum to Bailey, and full-time lover of weekend adventures. When I’m not making pups feel their best at my 1-to-1 grooming salon in Kent, I’m out exploring new places with my curly-tailed best friend.

We recently returned from a dreamy dog-friendly break in the New Forest, and I have to share it with you — because honestly, it was one of the most thoughtful and paw-perfect trips we’ve ever taken.

🛏️ Where We Stayed: Burley Manor, New Forest

Tucked away in the charming village of Burley, we booked into Burley Manor — a stunning country house hotel that’s completely dog-friendly and full of character.

Why we loved it:

  • 🌳 Garden-view rooms overlooking a deer sanctuary
  • 🎁 Doggie welcome pack in the room (treats, bowls, a rope toy, poop bags, AND a towel!)
  • 🍹 Beautiful gardens with lawn games — the perfect spot for humans and hounds to relax
  • 🛏️ Truly dog-welcoming, not just “dog-tolerant”

Every detail was carefully thought through — you and your pup are made to feel totally at home.

🐾 Where We Visited: Burley Village

Burley is famous for its quirky witchcraft history, but for dog parents, it’s all about:

  • 🐶 Dog-friendly pubs and cafes (many with outdoor seating)
  • 🛍️ Lovely little shops — including our fave, Pelly & Purdy, a beautiful pet boutique where we stocked up on birthday treats for Bailey
  • 🍰 Scenic walks and cake stops all over town

And yes, we topped up our treat stash with some Life of Riley goodies — because birthday bakes are serious business in our house!

🧳 Final Thoughts: Why This Trip Was Pawfect

From the eco-conscious touches (like compostable packaging and bamboo loo roll) to the spacious grounds and dog-first attitude, Burley Manor and the whole New Forest vibe felt like a proper escape. No stress. No “are dogs allowed?” Just fun, freedom, and fresh air.

Whether you’re planning your dog’s birthday weekend or just need a cosy countryside break, I couldn’t recommend it more.

Thanks for reading — I hope this inspires your next dog-friendly getaway!

Love,
Hollie xoxo
